Mizuho Financial Group, Inc., Mizuho Bank, Ltd. and Mizuho Corporate Bank, Ltd. announced on November 14, 2011 that we decided to conduct a merger of the two banks (the "Merger") by around the end of the first half of fiscal 2013, on the assumption that filings will be made to, and permission obtained from the relevant authorities in Japan and any foreign countries. Additionally, we announced on March 30, 2012 that we determined the effective date of the Merger to be July 1, 2013.
