Relationships with Local Communities & Volunteer Activities

As a community-based corporate member, Mizuho considers it important to have and deepen exchanges with local residents.

Based on this recognition, offices of MHBK, MHCB, MHTB, MHSC, MHIS, MHRI and MHIR partner with local government bodies and NPOs to contribute to local communities as well as conduct their own independent initiatives.

We will continue to support all our offices in carrying out local, voluntary initiatives.

Support for Voluntary Employee Participation

Mizuho believes that contributing to local communities as a good corporate citizen is one of its social responsibilities. This belief is reflected in an active involvement in improving support and organizational systems so that employees of group companies can participate in a wide rage of volunteer programs.

The initiative was conducted with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and consisted of cutting grass, planting fields and other activities to restore the natural woodland environment and scenery, which had not been adequately maintained, and preserve the diverse ecosystem. Employees used their volunteering leave to participate in the initiative and worked up a good sweat doing so.
