Social Contributions
Mizuho is committed to contributing to local communities, which are the foundation of our existence.
Mizuho established the Standards for Social Contributions and Environmental Issues, and is moving ahead with continuous social contribution activities.
This section outlines the group's basic approach to social contributions and provides examples of local activities being conducted voluntarily in Japan and abroad.
Basic Stance toward the Community
- We will fulfill the roles expected of a good corporate citizen in partnership with local communities.
- We will actively engage in activities that contribute to society.
- We believe that a responsible environmental policy makes sound business sense, and mindful of our responsibilities to society, will consider environmental issues as a part of our business decisions.

The Mizuho Charity Fund
The Mizuho Charity Fund was set up in August 2002 to raise money to promote social contribution activities by executives and employees. Money raised is used to buy vehicles for social welfare programs, provide relief funds when major disasters occur and make donations to volunteer initiatives based on employee suggestions. The money is disbursed through the group's philanthropic foundations.
