The Mizuho Charity Fund was set up in Aug 2002 to raise money to promote social contribution activities by executives and employees. Money raised is used to buy vehicles for social welfare programs, provide relief funds when major disasters occur and make donations to volunteer initiatives based on employee suggestions. The money is disbursed through the group's philanthropic foundations.
