In fiscal 2011, the foundation paid out JPY 62.37 million to subsidize the following activities.
Grants for social welfare activities
After publicly soliciting and carefully screening proposals, the foundation presents grants for projects relating to the disabled and research centered on the disabled. In fiscal 2011, grants were awarded to 52 projects run by facilities or groups for the disabled, and five research groups with members consisting of universities and other organizations.

Subsidies for braille translations
The foundation subsidizes the expenses for creating braille translations and audio versions of textbooks and reference books to support the educational pursuits of visually impaired university students. In fiscal 2011, subsidies were provided to 18 students, 3 of whom received them for the first time.

Donation of electric wheelchairs
Hoping to increase mobility for people with disabilities and help them participate more actively in society, the foundation donates electric wheelchairs to facilities that serve the disabled and receive a recommendation from their local government. In fiscal 2011, the foundation donated three electric wheelchairs to facilities serving the disabled in areas damaged in the Great East Japan Earthquake.

Vehicle donations
Using funds from the Mizuho Charity Fund, which is funded by donations made by executives and employees of Mizuho, "Mizuho Go" vehicles are donated to facilities that serve the needs of people with disabilities and receive a recommendation from their local government. In fiscal 2011, 6 vehicles were donated to facilities serving the disabled in areas damaged in the Great East Japan Earthquake.
