In Jan 2010, we made a donation of JPY 1,000,000 to The Japanese Red Cross Society from Mizuho Charity Fund for disaster-relief of the earthquake that hit the Republic of Haiti.
In Oct 2009, we made a donation of JPY 2,000,000 to the Japanese Red Cross Society for disaster-relief of The Sumatra Earthquake. (Mizuho Charity Fund: JPY 1,000,000, matching gift by Mizuho Financial Group Inc.: JPY 1,000,000)
In Sep 2009, we made a donation of TWD 150,000.00 to The Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Taipei from Mizuho Charity Fund for disaster-relief of Typhoon No.8 (Marakot) in Taiwan.
In addition, Mizuho Corporate Bank made a donation of TWD 180,000.00 from Taipei Branch and kaohsiung Branch, and TWD 651,110.00 from the executives and employees of 3 locations in Taiwan (Taipei, Kaohsiung and Taichung).
In Jun 2008, we made a donation of JPY 5,000,000 for disaster-relief of The Iwate-Miyagi Nairiku Earthquake.
Mizuho Bank, Ltd. implemented the special measures coping with disasters including applying disaster recovery loans, lowering interest rates on financial products for SMEs, refunding and cancelling deposit.
In May 2008, we made a donation of JPY 23,370,525 [details; JPY 3,370,525 from the executives and employees of domestic offices and JPY 20,000,000 from Mizuho Financial Group Inc.] for disaster-relief of Sichuan Earthquake in China.
The donation was made to the Japanese Red Cross Society.
In addition , Mizuho Corporate Bank (China) made a donation of RMB 325,000 [details; RMB 225,000 from the executives and employees of local offices and RMB 100,000 from Mizuho Corporate Bank (China)] .
